When I was trying to breastfeed I used this pillow and when I could get my son positioned correctly on the pillow, it was awesome. However it comes with a belt attached to help it stay in place better, I had to take the belt off when I first started using it because after my c-section, I couldn't stand anything pressing against me. Needless to say, without the belt it did not work as well. I mostly ended up using it as an arm rest for myself and those who came to visit us in the hospital while they held my son, if they wanted it. For breastfeeding it has two sides, a soft side for newborns and a firm side for older babies. While I was attempting to breastfeed, it was nice to have.
Now that my son is a little older, I sometimes just use it as a regular Boppy and prop him up with it on the bed with me or on the floor. Since it's main purpose to go around the stomach area of an adult, it does not offer very tight support for him to sit up so he mainly has to be reclined in it.
If your plan is to breastfeed, I would say give it a try and put it on your registry. However, if bottle feeding is the way you plan to go and you just want something to prop your baby up on when he gets a little sturdier, I would say go with a regular Boppy.
