My Favorite Apps for Moms

Photo Credit: www.pixabay.com One thing I have learned from having a baby is that your cell phone will become your best friend. There are apps that let you track almost every aspect of your baby's life. Without these apps mom life would be a lot harder for me so I want to share my must have apps as a mother with everyone. All of these apps are available for purchase or download on the iTunes App Store, however since I only have Apple products I do not know if it available on Google Play or places like that.  Feed Baby: Feed Baby is free to download and you only have to pay if you want to remove ads and sync back up quicker. Originally I used another app to keep track of my baby's need but a friend turned me on to this app and it is much more user friendly and includes more aspects of baby's life for you to be able to track   Link to Feed Baby The Wonder Weeks: The Wonder Weeks is free to download, if you want the ebook through the app though you have to pay for th...

Baby's First Ride

Being about to watch your little one explore the new world around them is one of the most rewarding parts of being a parent. Adults do not stop to see the wonder of the things around us like babies and young children do. At this point my son was almost three months old. I have ridden and walked by this exact carousel so many times in my life that I did not even stop to give it a second look. However, while we were eating our lunch, my son was being extremely quiet in his stroller so my mom decided to just take a peek at him. She then looked up and told me that he was mesmerized by the carousel. Once we finished eating, I decided to take him for a ride on it and see how he did. He absolutely loved it! His little faced lite up being so close to all the big lights. The entire ride he sat there in my lap smiling at taking in all the new sensations he was experiencing.  Watching him experience new things is amazing because the more he experiences, the more he begins to show ...

Pregnancy Weight Gain: An Honest Opinion

The first picture in this post was taken when I was at nine weeks gestation and I just had my first ultrasound. The second picture I was at thirty-four weeks gestation and was on my way to my first baby shower. Needless to say since I was only thirty-four weeks here I got much bigger before I delivered.  Now before I continue, I love my son and I would not change a single thing that I had to go through to get him. With that being said, I had just lost thirty-five pounds before I found out I was pregnant and had finally began to feel good about myself again. While carrying my son I gained all the weight back, and then some extra. It made me feel very self consious and it still does.  I will be fifteen weeks postpartum this Friday. I have lost some of the pregnancy weight but my eating habits are no where near where they were when I got pregnant. Although I know my body did an amazing thing by growing and developing another human being, I am still so hard on myself abou...

Swimming with Babies

When I decided to take my little boy swimming for the first time he was about two and a half months old. Of course with babies sunscreen is a must because of their sensitive skin. I chose to use Coppertone's Water Babies (will post on this product later) to protect my son's delicate skin. I do not know if anyone has ever noticed or not but sunscreens say on the bottle that they aren't recommended for anyone under 6 months of age. Well, I did some soul searching, talked to some people who I trust that have had babies, and decided to give it a try. He did wonderful, with both the sunscreen and being in the water for the first time. He lasted twenty minutes then had to go nap, after his nap I brought him back out again to see how he would do after some sleep, and he played for an hour!  So if you are like me and are trying to make the choice to swim or not to swim, I would say it is probably okay to take your baby swimming if they are healthy. Then again I am not a doct...
